Tip #2
The more toys you bring with you, the greater the chance one or more will refuse to work when you arrive at your destination...This will cause stress so be prepared and fight the urge to purchase a bigger and better new toy...

RV Park Living
tip # 1
Don't venture outside the RV if you need to accomplish any tasks...People are just too darn friendly and there are so many of them...A simple job could take forever as you chat the day away...

2009 A late start
Well we actually left 5 days ago but I'll try to catch you up.
Tuesday : We left home with about 2" of snow on the ground. By the time we arrived in Woodbridge VA 12 hours later,It was pouring rain and very dark...Traffic was horrific but it was worth it to see the kids.
Wednesday and Thursday: Spent our time bonding with the grandbabies. Britten coerced me into going to Karaoke with her and her boyfriend, Brandon. The bar (Queen's Gambit)was a real dive , but full of character and characters. Brandon and Britten seem to have a lot in common and it's so nice to see her in a happy relationship.
Garrick and Marla's new home is huge and full of possibilities. I can't wait to see what they do with it because they are both such creative people. They also make beautiful babies...Trent and Hunter are both wonderful and full of personality. We loved spending time with them (though Grandpa Pete was pretty tired after playing with Trent.
Friday: Headed south to SOB (South of the Border). The weather was cold but clear. Had dinner at the restaurant and was in bed by 10:30...slept comfortably in our own bed once we warmed up.
Saturday and Sunday: Uneventful until we arrived at the Kingsland KOA and couldn't get the slide out...Actually broke the trim right off the trailer when the weld broke on the mechanism that operates the slide. It was pouring rain and miserable. I asked about a welder at the office and miraculously there was an on duty one here at the park...an extra night here and all will be fixed and we'll head out for Miami.

Gilbert's Resort
On a quest to escape boredoom, we headed for Key Largo and barely made it. A tiny sign to the right of the new bridge beckoned us to Gilbert's Resort and Marina. We had heard the restaurant was good so we were disappointed to see it opened at 5pm. The Tiki bar was open for lunch so we braved the boardwalk and cool weather and enjoyed a lovely meal by the water...Definitely worth the drive from Miami...We'll be back again.
Prices: Reasonable
Location: Lovely
Food: Good
Sevice: Freindly and informative
